Die angebliche Synagoge der makkabäischen Märtyrer in Antiochia am Orontes

The so-called “Synagogue of the Maccabean Martyrs” in Antioch-on-the-Orontes never existed. Only late and dubious sources claim that this alleged synagogue housed the relics of these martyrs and was later transformed into a church. Augustin's claim that the basilica has been built by Christians should be taken literally.
