Pointwise estimates for a model problem in nonlinear elasticity

We deal with maps u : &OHgr; ⊂ ℝⁿ → ℝⁿ minimizing variational integrals , where p ≥ 2, h : (0, +∞) → [0, +∞) is convex and blows when det Du → 0: lim_{t → 0} h(t) = + ∞. If such a blow up is slow enough, then we prove upper and lower bounds for every component u^j of the minimizer u = (u¹, …, uⁿ).
