Effective from January 1st, 2003, a new editorial board for Statistics & Decisions has assumed office.
The incoming editors would like to take this opportunity to thank their predecessors for their hard work. Special thanks go to the founders and longstanding coordinating editors of this journal, E. J. Dudewicz, D. Plachky and P. K. Sen, whose dedication and commitment over the years have been instrumental in making this journal a success and establishing it as an integral part of the scientific community. We would also like to thank the staff for their cooperation and support, which has enabled a smooth transition.
The board looks forward to continuing the longstanding tradition of this journal and building on its reputation as a publication of scientific excellence.
Statistics & Decisions will continue to provide a forum for contributions to statistical theory and related fields. In selecting papers for publications, the editors focus on high mathematical standards, scientific innovation, importance and clarity of presentation. The scope of subjects is interpreted in a broad sense and includes any developments in current research related to stochastic and statistical methods, models and concepts of data analysis or decision theory.Mathematical papers on stochastic finance or on the stochastic analysis of algorithms are as welcome as papers on asymptotic statistics, nonparametric statistical inference and statistical analysis of stochastic processes.
