Subtidal Benthic Marine Algae of the Phoenix Islands, Republic of Kiribati, Central Pacific

A total of 69 taxa of subtidal benthic marine algae, including nine new records (Rhodophyceae) for Micronesia, is listed from the Phoenix Islands, Kiribati, Central Pacific. Collections from Nikumaroro, McKean, Kanton, Enderbury, Phoenix, Sydney and Hull Atolls are reported, including 7 Cyanophyceae, 29 Rhodophyceae, 5 Phaeophyceae and 28 Chlorophyceae. This brings to 107 the number of species reported from these islands to date.
