Tribological Measuring Procedure for the Determination of Lacquer Characteristics

For the evaluation of some mechanical-technological coating characteristics, particularly for intermediate lacquer adhesion, no meaningful measuring methods are available. The so-called Tribo-Tester, developed at the Fraunhofer IPA for the evaluation of abrasion characteristics, was adapted to the characteristics of organic coatings. In practice-relevant applications the new method was compared with conventional inspection and successfully verified.
