In some cases, control design and trajectory planning for linear systems with spatially distributed parameters with lumped controls can be based on power series expansions. A systematic method for the calculation of these series representations is proposed, which can be applied in case of spatially varying coefficients of the partial differential equations also. As an application of this latter type, a thin elastic plate ring is considered for which a control is designed that generates a revolving bending profile.
