Texture Analysis of Industrial and Road Surfaces

For real–time analysis of moving surfaces, CCD cameras and subsequent image processing with fast hardware and sophisticated software is state–of–the–art, but requires the handling of huge amounts of data in very short time intervals. This work proposes monitoring the cross–correlation signal between the surface texture and an optical grating for the inspection of moving surfaces.
