Least-square Circles in the Plane

The evaluation of measured data sometimes requires the calculation of least square circles in the plane. This fit has to be such as to minimize the sum of the squared distances taken perpendicular to the fitted circle. In this paper the algorithm for a total least square circle fit in the plane will be derived. For practical purposes a C routine will be given.
