Adaptronic structures contain integrated sensors, actuators and controllers. Their structural behaviour is triggered by a controller in such a way that the deformations and vibrations are as close as possible to the required ones. Here, typical steps in modelling and simulation of such adaptive structures are given together with some results obtained for a practical example of a large astronomical telescope.
