Shape Comparison between two Objects at Different Locations with Digital Holography

In this paper we describe the novel technique of comparative digital holography for the remote comparison of objects with regard to their shape. The method allows interferometric sensitivity for comparing objects with different surface micro structure and does not assume that both samples are located at the same place. The combination of digital holography with a spatial light modulator for the optical reconstruction of digital holograms opens new possibilities for the modification of wave fronts.
