The most important and most frequently used parameter for the description of the quality of a measurement result is the measurement uncertainty. In order to ensure the comparability of values of the measurement uncertainty, this is determined since 1993 according to the Guide to the expression of Uncertainty in Measurement, briefly GUM [1], which specifies an internationally agreed and accepted fundamental proceeding for the evaluation of measurement uncertainty. The bases and the steps of the GUM-conformal computation of the measurement uncertainty are described.
