Predictive Control with Dynamic Programming for First Order Nonlinear Systems

This paper presents the addition of Bellman´s dynamic programming to model predictive control for first order nonlinear systems. The specialities of both methods will be used to achieve a reduction in the computational effort. This reduction will be demonstrated using the example of a simulated predictive powertrain control for a hybrid electric vehicle.
