Parameter Identification for Discrete Event Systems

The present contribution proposes a new method for identification of timed discrete event system models. The estimation problem is formulated as a minimization of an equation error based on an algebraic model of the event time dynamics using the max-plus-algebra. The issue of an exact determination of parameters is addressed and a method for an appropriate choice of excitation signals is given.
