An Oxyfuel-Power-Plant as an Example for Object Oriented Modelling, Simulation and Control of Dynamic Systems

Keywords: object oriented modelling, Modelica, Dymola, dynamic simulation, automatic control

This paper deals with object oriented modelling, simulation and control of dynamic, technical systems. The exhaust gas cycle of an oxyfuel power plant is used to clarify the characteristics and advantages of the object oriented modelling using Modelica for automatic control purposes. Different libraries are used for modelling the thermodynamic interrelations. The possibility of coupling the tools Modelica/Dymola and Matlab/Simulink leads to a tool chain that allows for developing an automatic control concept using rapid control prototyping methodology.
