In the present investigation, the problem of accurate determination of mass flows by means of vortex-shedding flowmeters was studied in two- and three-dimensional configurations. To this end, the flow about bluff bodies of different designs was numerically simulated using a solver of the unsteady, compressible Navier-Stokes equations. The resulting flow fields were analyzed using various methods, including visualization and Discrete Fourier Transformation (DFT) of properly chosen variables.
