Numerical Field Simulation Using the Finite Integration Method – Possibilities and Limits

In this paper we present the electromagnetic field calculation based on the Finite Integration Method (FI). The possibilities and limits of this method are demonstrated with some realistic complex applications. Such practical problems in the field of electromagnetic compatibility are e.g. crosstalk phenomena in microstrip designs, in connector and microchip pins, and the simulation of electromagnetic emissions of technical devices such as personal computers, car antennas, or mobile phones.
