Because of the increasing number of driver assistance and control systems in vehicles fault-diagnosis of the used sensors become more important. In order to certainly detect even small faults model-based methods of fault-detection are used. Depending on the utilized method different models of vehicle dynamics are applied. Afterwards, a suitable set of residuals generated with parity equations is chosen. Using the known relationship between faults and symptoms a fault-diagnosis is performed.
