Measurements of Fluids with an Acoustic Spectrometer

First measurements with the acoustic spectrometer show that the novel measuring method is suitable for measurements of material properties of a fluid: density, compressibility, viskosity and concentration. The dissociation of increaded-fluid-mixtures (sedimentation) is in an acustic field examined. With this new measuring method the fluid is stimulated by a standing longitudinal wave in its fundamental mode. The measured frequencies are a function of the density ρ and the compressibility κ. Applications of the measurement method are the laboratory-technology, process-measurement and the off-shore-technology.
