Small gearing mechanisms containing micro gears are increasingly industrially manufactured and applied. However, there are no uniform strategies for quality evaluation in particular with respect to assessing the gear geometry of micro gears. We report on the development of quality attributes and measurement strategies for micro gears thereby making use of the flexibility of multi-sensor coordinate measurements. The approaches as well as first results are presented.
