What Is Really Measured by Temperature Sensors in a Biomass Furnace?

Keywords: biomass furnace, Modelling, temperature sensor

Many temperature sensors are used in biomass furnaces. They have to be insensitive to dirt, mechanical load and big temperature fluctuations; but on the other hand they have to be cheap. Hence a compromise concerning a fast and accurate measurement is accepted. This article presents simple mathematical models describing the relation between process values and measured temperatures. They are applicable for the estimation of real temperatures and for model based control strategies.
