LED Temperature Sensor

We present a simple method to measure the temperature by means of a luminescence conversion LED. The test of this technique with a standard white-light LED results in a precision of about 2 ºC. We show, that using different phosphors or luminescent materials can increase the precision. An outlook is given on further sensor applications of LEDs.
