The potential of lateral control algorithms for vehicles with active suspension regarding handling qualities improvement is subject of this paper. The entire process of modelling, control algorithm synthesis, application und evaluation during real-world testing is considered. New control algorithms concerning dynamic rollmoment distribution are presented and its performance is evaluated in simulation and driving tests. Finally, the potential of integrated chassis control strategies are discussed concerning performance and significance for the driver.
