Non-Invasive Volume Controlled Ventilation with Reconstructed Spontaneous Breathing

This contribution shows new possibilities to use volume controlled ventilation non-invasively. Special interest has been laid on mask or mouth leakages, spontaneous breathing and non-expensive design of the respirator. Methods are presented, that identify current leakages and reconstruct the patient´s current breathing effort. With such data, during the next breathing cycle a leakage compensation can be accomplished along with a classification of the spontaneous breathing.
