Identification of Nonlinear Processes in Sheet Metal Forming by Use of Polynomial Interpolation

This paper deals with the parameter estimation of nonlinear systems in sheet metal forming. A general method for the parameter estimation of nonlinear systems with known analytical description is derived. The presented method is based on a Spline-interpolation of the nonlinear system parameters, which constant coefficients can be estimated by means of well known linear identification procedures. The derived method is verified by a shear cutting operation executed on a stamping machine. The results for the vertical ram movement are shown and discussed.
