The present contribution proposes a new presentation of hybrid dynamical systems in discrete time. Hybrid dynamical systems combine event driven and time driven dynamics. In addition to jumps in the time continuous state dynamics, it is also possible that there will be jumps in the state itself. These two different kinds of jumps make it impossible to find a description that is close to common modeling. A time discrete view of the time driven dynamics and the resulting simplification for the modeling of such systems shall be discussed in this contribution. Moreover basic insight will be given for the identification of hybrid dynamical systems.
