For linear parabolic distributed parameter systems with uniformly distributed control a flatness-based approach for design of the feedforward and feedback control is proposed. Firstly, the inhomogeneous heat conduction equation is considered. The flatness, choice of a flat output and approximation of the system with power series are discussed. The design of the feedforward and feedback control is based on the inverse system description and decoupling of the control output from the disturbance on the bound. The efficiency of the proposed approach is demonstrated on a glass feeder gate as a process industry example.
