Flatness based Feedforward Control Strategies for Batch Reactors

Using flatness analysis of nonlinear dynamic systems allows to obtain an analytic formula to calculate feedforward control trajectories for chemical batch reactors directly from the process engineering specifications. Up to now, this theory was only applied to find special solutions for individual applications. Now, for the first time, a general solution applicable to a wide range of chemical reactors was found. The robustness properties necessary for industrial usage are achieved by combination with PID control along the calculated trajectories.
