External Cavity QCL Systems

For many fields of industrial measurement a widely tuneable laser source in the mid infrared region is essential. Due to the characteristic spectra of several environmentally and medically relevant molecules this wavelength region is particularly suitable for high resolution spectroscopy. We report about a quantum cascade laser in an external cavity design. To achieve an enhanced single mode tuning range we coated the front facet of the laser for better functionality within the resonator.
