Evaluation of Measurement Uncertainty in Calibrating Oscilloscopes

The evaluation of the measurement uncertainty in calibrating oscilloscopes has proved difficult so far, because written calibration procedures were not available and the manufacturers of oscilloscopes did not address this issue in their calibration procedures. This situation improved considerably with the introduction of the VDI/VDE/DGQ/DKD series of calibration instructions for measuring means for electrical quantities. This paper describes the evaluation of measurement uncertainty in calibrating oscilloscopes based on this directions.
