Vibration analyses are suited for non-destructive testing of fibre composite parts whose degree of damage can be characterised with the help of the variables frequency and damping. These change with progressing damages but are also influenced by test and ambience conditions. If the variations of the influencing variables are kept within certain limits their effect on frequency is small and can normally be neglected. The effects on damping, however, have to be examined for the respective combinations of influencing variables and state of the test specimen.
