Controlling Molten Metal Atomization using Backscattered Laser Light

In the present work the backscattered light of a PDA system is used to control the atomization result occurring during spray forming. The introduced adaptation of a PDA device to the atomization gas control loop of a spray forming facility opens the possibility to analyse and control the process with regard to particle properties.
