Cavity Detection with a γ-γ-Probe in the Surrounding of Sewers

Voids in the surrounding of sewers can lead to pipe bursts, settlements and collapses of roadways. The voids are formed through leakages where soil material is flushed into the sewer. So far these voids cannot be detected by common closed circuit television inspection techniques. In contrast, the γ-γProbe offers the possibility to detect these voids due to their low density compared to the surrounding soil.
