Calibration-free Determination of Amount of Substance Fractions – Potentials for Quantum Cascade Lasers in Gas Analysis

Using the Beer–Lambert law a calibration-free, SI-traceable gas analysis based on laser spectroscopy systems is proved feasible. With a measurement system operating with direct absorption spectrometry the CO₂ fractions could be measured with a reproducibility of about 0.5% and an uncertainty of ±4%.
