The application of broadband THz-radiation for gas analysis is reported. Broadband THz-radiation with center frequencies around 1 THz and bandwidths up to 3 THz is generated using a diode laser pumped mode locked Cr:LiSAF laser and fast photoconductive switches. The detection sensitivity and cross talk are determined for CO, NO, HCl and NH3 and the possibility for an on-line mesurement of gas concentrations is discussed.
