An Algebraic Approach to Parameter Identification in Linear Infinite Dimensional Systems

Keywords: parameter identification, infinite dimensional system, operational calculus, delay system, heat equation

An algebraic approach for identification of parameters in linear infinite dimensional systems based on operational calculus is proposed. First, the method is derived for a system with delayed input and homogeneous initial conditions. A possible generalization to delay systems without input and non-homogeneous initial conditions is sketched. A similar approach is applicable to systems described by linear partial differential equations which, in particular, is discussed for second order p. d. e., as for instance the one dimensional heat equation.
