Accuracy improvement by using signal processing and self-calibration plays an important role in computer controlled measurement and test technology. In this paper adaptive filtering, self-calibration measuring methods, and self-correction algorithms are introduced to reduce measuring errors. The adaptive filtering is suitable for noise reduction of periodic and periodically extended signals, the spectrum of which superimposes with the noise spectrum. The self-calibration measuring methods are based on self-calibration with the use of reference elements and quantities integrated in a measuring system. After the self-calibration measuring errors are automatically compensated so that the measuring accuracy of the resulting system can be improved in comparison with that of the original system. Errors caused by digital signal processing in measuring systems can be reduced by the proposed self-correction algorithm. Typical application examples are shown in this paper.
