This paper describes an elementary approach to the system theory of discrete-event-systems. The definitions and properties presented in this approach can easily be understood due to the analogy to well known system-theory. Finally the definitions are applied to real systems and resulting restrictions are presented. The conservation of events, which can be verified by properties of the impulse response, is defined in this article and is likewise shown by an example.
