A Development Platform for Efficient Realization of Sensor Systems

A sensor test bench, TrySense, has been developed and built. It is a wireless programmable platform for rapid and cost efficient prototyping or small-scale production of sensor systems. It is based on an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) that ensures high flexibility and generality. The sensors are interfaced through onboard A/D- and D/A-converters. Further, it is equipped with a Bluetooth module that allows wireless data readout and instantaneous reprogramming of the FPGA. The test system can be used in a wide range of applications, for instance surveillance of patients or measurements on cars during crash tests.
