Web Accessibility

This contribution summarises the state-of-the-art of web accessibility. The terminology is being discussed in the context of the legal framework in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and being linked to a slightly modified interpretation of usability. The definition of web accessibility, mainly influenced by the World Wide Web Consortium′s (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), is also being assessed with regard to completeness as well as areas of further development and improvement.
