Structured Anchored Discussion as a Means of Collaborative Learning with eLectures

Keywords: Vorlesungsaufzeichnung, CSCL, Kooperationsskript

Recording live lectures and using the resulting multimedia documents as content modules has become a widespread method in e-learning. In order to foster learner interaction and collaboration around such documents, discussion features are required which are tightly integrated with the contents and which support the discussion by providing guidelines or scaffolds to learners. To fulfil these goals, the concept of structured anchored discussion is introduced. We report on ways to anchor discussion notes directly in the contents and to structure the discussion with types and prompts.
