Site-Covering – A Substitute to Eyetracking?

The method of eye-movement registration offers objective and reliable data about information reception on websites. By now eye flow measurement can only be observed in a laboratory and the costs for high-quality eye-movement registration systems are rather high. The present article describe a new method, called Site-Covering. For evaluating the reliability, objectivity and validity of this method, the data of the Site-Covering-Method were compared to eyetracking-data in a method test. The results of this test are presented within the context of this article.
