This paper proposes a hybrid approach for managing knowledge within companies based on a hybrid man machine system. In addition to traditional Knowledge Management Systems our concept supports employees not only on finding information but also on establishing contact between the person requesting information and a person/community who can help solve the problem. We use a szenario to give a taste of our vision of an automated searching process. In addition we present some results of our investigation of Internet based contact- and knowledge-exchange platforms and our survey what the potential users are expecting from a knowledge management system.
