Optical Interconnection Technology on the Printed Circuit Board Level: Technology – Design – Modelling

The optical interconnection technology on the printed circuit board level, being a key technology for future micro-electronic equipment, is introduced. Apart from the technology to manufacture optical layers with integrated optical waveguides, the design of electrical-optical printed circuit boards as well as techniques for modelling and simulation of optical waveguides are described.
