Middleware for Self-Organized Networked Mobile Systems

Mobile devices can establish mobile ad-hoc networks in a self-organizing manner without utilizing any fixed communication infrastructure, such as mobile radio networks or the Internet. However, in order to provide attractive applications and services a suited middleware is needed — currently existing approaches can not cope with the characteristics of highly dynamic and self–organizing communication infrastructures. The DFG Priority Program aims to develop suited methods and mechanisms for providing proper middleware in such environments.
