Recently the classic education scenario often is supplemented by online events that are distributed across computer networks. A further trend are multimedia courses that allow self-learning at the computer. Such courses are expensive to produce. Especially the programming of the applets used in these courses is very time-consuming. Using this mulitimedia material in an online education event therefore makes sense under cost-profit aspects. In this paper we present the prototype system ACIT which allows joint usage of java applets in an online event that is distributed across the world wide web. A possible realization of the user interface as well as technical issues regarding the system architecture and the reuse permitting program design are discussed.
