Our Information Technology: its Imperfection and its Instability

While the fundamentals of information technology offer, based on the achievements of micro-electronics and the global information networks, the perfection of logics, the reality of our field shows an imperfection and an instability which is in painful contrast to the foundations. Hardware offers unique improvements of the parameters and therefore invites software to hastiness, amplified by the invisibility of the operation and the non-transparency of primitive documentation. Networking is implemented with a strange superficiality and so leads to chaotic situations and to criminality.
Carelessness of documentation and corruption of language convert our tool of communication on the next higher level to a bad example of communication. The compensation of our weaknesses is a task for each individual colleague.
Because official or standardizing means will hardly help. Only inner discipline can help, inner discipline which one needs anyhow against the overabundance of the computer offers.
Our weaknesses are not technical, they are weaknesses of behavior.
