Gironimo – Translation Optimized Virtual Machine

This paper describes Gironimo, a virtual machine with an instruction set architecture (ISA) comparable to the widely used Pentium-processors. Therefore virtual programs can be emulated at top speed on such equipped machines. Because Gironimo is not simply a copy of the real Pentium-architecture, it is possible to execute virtual programs also on machines equipped with other real processors, like the PowerPC, UltraSPARC IIi, ARM etc.
