Fast converging adaptive equalisers are needed whenever a data receiver needs to adjust itself to unknown transmission conditions, e.g., during a radio propagation. In the thesis [1], fast converging recursive least squares (RLS) algorithms were uniformly geometrically deducted and new variants derived that cut down the implementation effort of known rotation based and numerically stable RLS equalisers to less than the half.
