Evolutionary Testing of the Temporal Behaviour of Real-Time Systems

Evolutionary testing represents a new test method which makes the systematic and largely automated testing of the temporal behaviour of real-time systems possible. The test is interpreted as an optimisation problem which is solved using evolutionary algorithms. The input situations with the longest and shortest execution times are searched for, in order to check dynamically whether violations of the timing constraints specified for the real-time system under test occur.
