Enterprise-on-Air: Context-aware Mobile Enterprise Services

Ubiquitous and ad-hoc wireless access to enterprise services from mobile devices has been the goal of the Enterprise-on-Air (EoA) project, a combined effort of several departments of Siemens Corporate Technology. End-user services for a wireless corporate campus were designed, built and evaluated. These services support everyday life activities on a large campus like finding locations and people and complete support to organize, hold and document meetings. This article gives insights about the context-dependent part of the project, in particular the service platform and the client software.
